What do normal people eat?

Seeing as I rarely feed more people than myself, and I have odd tastes, I was wondering what normal people eat. Since the vast majority of my friends are feeding more than themselves, and are a bit more normal in the eating area than myself, I would like your assistance.

What do you eat? Do your kids (if you have them) eat the same thing you do for dinner? If not, how do you accommodate them? Do you generally eat the same meals every week, or vary drastically in your menu? What are your family favorites?

Thanks.

  1. I wish I could tell you. I am not normal. I a vegan. We all eat the same stuff though. Elly will eat more of teh fruits and veggies on the side while Aaron and I eat more of the chilli, pasta, chik'n sandwiches, taco's ect. We drink hemp milk and eat allot of nuts and home-made bread for snacks and protein. We branch out into allot of different things on a weekly and even over the week basis. We love the vegan chilli, veggie rice, and pasta. One night we might go oriental the next Italian and sometimes both in the same night. Definitely not normal but at least another perspective.

  2. Rachel! Ok, first I'll answer the kid question. They eat what we eat for dinner and my policy is if they don't like it they can go hungry. It sounds mean, but I don't want to have to make two-three meals every dinner time and they can learn to try new things. And as a result my kids are not picky eaters.

We eat lots of different things, but I try to keep it varied week to week. I plan my meals monthly and will have a couple meals repeated throughout the month, but try to avoid too much of the same in one month.

We like pasta with various sauces I make from scratch (pesto, alfredo, peanut), I make a variety of chicken dishes, I have bean recipes and soup recipes we eat from time to time. Sometimes we have breakfast for dinner or homemade pizza. From time to time we will have something frozen (like fishsticks) to give me a break from being in the kitchen. Hmmm, I can't think of anything else, but if you are looking for anything more specific, just let me know! Good luck!

  3. We like enchiladas, tacos, pizza, spaghetti, chicken and pasta and hamburgers. M eats most of it and if he doesn't like it, he gets a sandwich instead. :)

  4. I'm very much a creature of habit:
Breakfast: bowl of cereal (one cup Wheat Chex, one cup Cinnamon Burst Cheerios), banana with peanut butter, and greek yogurt with frozen blueberries/raspberries/or blackberries.

    Lunch:
Soup or a wrap/burrito or a turkey sandwich,
string cheese, and a fruit of some kind.

    Dinner:
The lunch choice that I didn't go with that particular day.

My "variety" comes when I decide to eat out.

  5. I eat peanut butter on toast almost every morning. And at night if dinner didn't fill me up. Lunch I eat leftovers or pb on toast and for dinner I eat what Sarah brings over - hahahah!
And my kids were very picky eaters and didn't eat "good" food, only kid stuff - mac and cheese, spagettios, hamburgers, goldfish crackers, etc. But now they not only eat everything but they are all (except for one but he has his excuses) good cooks. Go figure.
But then again, you said "normal."

  6. There is a lot of cereal eating happening here. Sometimes sandwiches, and then a lot of yogurt. I try to make dinner at least a couple times a week so we can eat leftovers. Food I make at dinner is all over the board. Often we just have eggs and toast for dinner, or waffles or french toast.
